Dark Urshifu VMAX – Rapid Strike Urshifu Deck With Galarian Moltres V
I recently played a local tournament with this variation on the Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX deck that uses Galarian Moltres V and was pleased with the result. The deck focuses on using Galarian Moltres V as a secondary attacker, helping defend your deck’s weakness against Mew. In theory, it’s a great idea. But I found matchups against Mew were still challenging, although not nearly as much of a wash as it would have been without it.
Additionally, Galarian Moltres’s Direflame Wings ability makes for a perfect combination with Rapid Strike Urshifu’s Grand Max Rapid Flow. Players can use Urshifu’s ultimate attack one turn, and then turn around and do the same attack all over again with a handy energy switch. Throw in a Cheryl and you are off to the races.
Dark Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX Deck List
One of the advantages of playing Rapid Strike Urshifu right now is its price point. Not often is a top tier deck also a budget deck. Many of the cards you’ll need to build this deck, however, are available in the Rapid Strike Urshifu V League Battle Deck.

Good Against Jolteon
Rapid Strike Urshifu is a good answer to Jolteon. For just one energy, it can OHKO (one hit knock out) a Jolteon VMAX. For two energies, when combined with Telescopic Sight and/or Passimian, as well as Quick Shooting Inteleon, and it can win the entire game for you in one turn.
Playable Against Mew
Due to Mew V’s low base HP, you can OHKO it with a Grand Max Rapid Flow. Genesect is also a relatively easy target for Rapid Strike Urshifu. Pair that with Galarian Moltres’s ability to OHKO a Mew VMAX and you stand a chance against the toughest deck in the current meta.
As for the rest of the meta – you have a solid fighting chance at winning.
