Complete Lorcana Ursula’s Return Card List
Now that spoiler season is over for Ursula’s Return, it’s time to have a look at the cards from this set in their entirety. In this overview, we’ll be sharing every single Ursula’s Return card as well as giving you some of the highlights form each Ink type.
Amber cards
Amber can seem a little underwhelming in this set when compared to how much power its been given in previous sets. Still, there are some gems here. Ariel is a powerful singer and so is Cinderella. Meanwhile, players who enjoy the Amber/Ruby strategy will enjoy added support thanks to a strong Gaston who lets you pay less for characters you play as well as a Julieta Madrigal who can be used in tandem with cards from Ruby to quickly heal damage and draw cards.
Amethyst cards
Amethyst brings with it plenty of Encanto characters, a new Belle Floodborn characters and the mighty Ursula – Sea Witch Queen. In addition to this splattering of cards, we also get powerful new support for the popular Magic Broom deck. While Belle may be a little underwhelming (moving damage around hasn’t been a viable strategy yet), Amethyst does boast what just might be the most powerful draw engine in Amethyst’s toolbox: Second Star to the Right.
Emerald cards
Its funny. Emerald didn’t start out nearly as the strongest ink type. Today, however, it could be. It’s got some crazy cards, strategies and combos that keep your opponent guessing, and today its most popular and competitive iteration can be found in the Emerald/Steel discard deck.
Ursula’s Return adds further versatility to the strategy in the shape of Diablo who lets you draw cards whenever your opponent does, as well as thanks to Cri–Kee. Cri-Kee will likely see a ton of play as its own of the best cards in the set capable of bolstering Emerald’s main weakness: it’s fighting chances based on Strength.
Ruby cards
Ruby is one of those Ink types that just keeps getting stronger. Just when you thought you might be done with the power creep something new comes along to ruin your day. In this set (if you aren’t a Ruby player) these cards come in many forms, like the new low Strength stat banishing power popular in Ruby/Sapphire decks. Without a doubt Ruby has the powerhouses of the game in its Ink type. Sometimes it can feel a little like its Ruby’s world and the rest of us are just living in it with the kind of support Lorcana adds to it each set.
Sapphire cards
Sapphire has been playing something of a supporting role in decks lately where it is largely included for its ramping capabilities and items. In this set, Items seem to be getting the biggest buff, with a few new ramping capabilities. The standout character from Sapphire is Ariel – Treasure Collector. She has powerful lore capabilities that can be leveraged reliably. Meanwhile, items like Great Stone Dragon and Ice Block have a major impact on existing strategies in the game.
Steel cards
Steel has some of the best cads in the game and it is an Ink type used in several top tier decks. That being said, the main standouts its getting in this set are Ariel – Sonic Warrior and Philoctetes. Many Steelsong decks are going to look to incorporate Ariel to take advantage of extra damage output when they play songs while Phil partners well with the existing strategy, enabling additional lore whenever a hero character is played.
Besides the meta cards, fans of the Magic Broom strategy will be glad to see a powerful new card added to the roster in the shape of Mickey Mouse – Playful Sorcerer.
Ursula’s Return is an important set for the Disney Lorcana game, further establishing it as a mature game with deep strategy. While this set won’t have the kind of impact that Into the Inklands did, it offers plenty of desirable strategies that players will want to add to their decks, as well as some of the most gorgeous enchanted artworks we’ve seen to date.
