McDonald’s Pokemon TCG: Match Battle 2022 Happy Meal Card Value

Want to know which McDonald’s Pokemon Card 2022 is worth the most? Released today August 16, 2022, these Pokemon cards are exclusive to McDonalds. But are they worth anything?

We went to McDonald’s today to surprisingly little fanfare. There were no lines. Nobody was fighting over Happy Meals. There was, however, a limit to how many Pokemon Toys were allowed per visitor.

We didn’t care about the limit. We were happy to each of us get one happy meal and sit down inside together and eat our cheeseburgers and french fries and watch the other twenty-somethings and thirty-something roll up in their cars, grab their suspiciously Happy Meal-sized to-go bags and head off into the great blue yonder.

Then it was time to open our Pokemon packs.

Previously to heading to McDonald’s, I hadn’t done any research on what was of value. Were the cards even valuable? And then, as we opened our first pack, the little yellow Pikachu poked its hologrpahic head out from the folds and I thought “huh, I wonder if that’s the most valuable one?”

Turns out, it is. And this is how much Pikachu and the rest of the McDonald’s Pokemon Happy Meal for 2022 are worth.

If You Get a Pikachu You are in Luck

Although you might be able to fetch a few bucks for some of the other Pokemon cards in the McDonald Happy Meal Match Battle set, chances are that they will become about as valuable as the rest of the average Pokemon cards in the world – that being not very valuable at all.

However, there is one card in this set that is likely to not only be valuable today but to keep its value. That card is the holographic Pikachu. I accidentally dropped mine so hopefully I didn’t scratch it, but you can see it below.

The other cards of value in this set include Gossifleur, Growlithe, Rowlet, and Victini. We also got a Growlithe. However, I don’t expect these cards to hold up their value nearly as well as the Pikachu. Currently, the Pikachu is worth around $10-15. I’d say this is one card to hold onto for future value.

Oddly enough, the Smergle is not selling for any higher than the common cards.
