Pokemon TCG: Stellar Crown Top Three New Decks

Stellar Crown is just around the corner, and it’s going to have a huge impact on the meta. Below, let’s take a look at some example deck lists of the powerful new strategies in Stellar Crown

Palkia VSTAR

Palkia VSTAR

First and foremost we have Palkia VSTAR. Although this powerful Pokemon might have been out of the meta for a while, it was once a dominant force, and likely will be one again after Stellar Crown releases. Palkia VSTAR draws its attack power from the number of Pokemon on the bench. In the current format, that doesn’t give it quite enough attack power to be deadly. However, once the new Area Zeo Underpaths stadium comes out, that attack power potential is greatly, greatly enhanced.

Not to mention that if you pair it with Terrapagos ex, you get added access to the many powerful, Tera boosting effects coming out in this set.

Most notable among these Tera boosting cards is Noctowl, a card that brings back memories of Palkia’s heyday when it was backed by the powerful Inteleon engine, letting you pick and choose trainers at will, adding incredible consistency to the deck.

Now, thanks to Noctowl and Terapagos, Palkia VSTAR once again can leverage that sort of consistency. Will it be enough to catapult this deck to the top levels of competition? I think so.

Hydrapple ex

Hydrapple ex

Hydrapple ex has a similar amount of hype going into Stellar Crown as Palkia VSTAR. I think this is largely driven by the current popularity of Ogerpon ex. Ogerpon ex is an incredibly commonly used Pokemon and people are excited to lean more deeply into a grass-centric deck strategy as opposed to simply using Ogerpon as an energy farm.

In this deck, you use a combination of Ogerpon ex’s Teal Dance with Hydrapple ex’s ability to accelerate an incredible amount of energy onto your Pokemon. Ultimately, this will massively enhance the damage output of your Hydrapple ex.

This deck list also runs the new Great Big Tree ACE SPEC which makes evolving your Pokemon easier. It also pairs it with the Dipplin from Twilight Masquerade, giving you some interesting attack options as opposed to relying solely on your Hydrapple ex.

Terrapagos ex

Lastly, Terrapagos ex is also a deck seeming some significant hype. While it’s likely not going to be as strong as Palkia VSTAR given Palkia’s greater damage reach, Terrapagos has a lot going for it. It has incredible new support given the new Tera cards like the Trumpet and Nocturn. Meanwhile, it can be used with other powerful basic Pokemon capable of taking big KOs.

Whatever deck you are most excited about, there’s a little something for everyone in Stellar Crown.
