UNION ARENA: Green GGO Deck — Sword Art Online

The green Gun Gale Online deck featuring Kirito and Sinon is one of the strongest decks in UNION ARENA: Sword Art Online, backed by the powerful and deadly Snipe keyword. Those who have faced down a fully powered up Kurapika deck know how deadly Snipe and Impact can be together, and in GGO we may see an even stronger combination of those two keywords than ever before.

Below, we’ll be looking at each and every card choice in this deck and why it should help you pilot your own Green GGO deck to victory!

Green SAO deck

Green GGO deck low-cost characters

For starters, Green GGO has a solid line of zero-cost characters.

  • Use Sinon as a raid target for six-cost Sinon.

  • Use Kirito either as a raid target or early game aggro.

  • Yuuki doesn’t serve any other purpose other than to fuel your energy line and help you see more cards.

  • Last but not least, XeXeDe who you can use to get a head start on energy gen.

Beyond the zero-cost characters this deck I built runs the two-cost Sinon. This characters really is just too good to pass up, with the step keyword which is great for a deck’s like this that rely on high energy generation, as well as a card effect that lets you see more cards to ensure you have the best chance at what you need.

Three-cost characters – Kirito and Sinon

Your three-cost characters in this deck are really important mostly because they are going to be your main energy generation for the course of the battle. A deck like Green GGO really does need a decent amount of energy gen as you’ll be looking to hit six and even seven cost characters regularly.

You have two solid options to choose from as you play this deck in the form of Kirito and Sinon.

Kirito
Sinon

Kirito is primarily here to be a potential raid target for your bigger and badder Kirito, but it doesn’t hurt that he’s got an Active trigger and a When Played that lets you look for a GGO character. Meanwhile, Sinon is the real stand-out between the two, gaining Impact when she’s at 4000 BP or more – a stat easy to reach in this deck thanks to the sheer number of BP boosting cards in it.

Why is Yuuki in here?

Yuuki

While Yuuki primarily fits into the Mother’s Rosario strategy, she’s still a solid character to fit into this deck if you have room. With an Active trigger, 4000 BP and Nulify Impact, she’s just a solid character to have around.

It’s not important in this deck strategy to worry about her when attacking draw effect. However if you wanted to tech in a Siune you certainly could as that card’s energy gen would fit in pretty seamlessly with this deck.

Raid Sinon is your strongest attacker

Sinon

Sinon is actually a pretty crazy broken card. She’s only a six-cost character which is somewhat reliable to hit if you’re deck is built that way. Meanwhile, she’s got the powerful Snipe keyword, letting you choose a character on your opponent’s frontline to battle. When she wins the battle, you get to sort through the top cards of your deck and look for anything good or bad and put it at top or bottom of the deck respectively, and then give another character 1000 BP for the turn.

Give that to your three-cost Sinon and suddenly you have a Snipe attacker and Impact for relatively low cost.

The only downside here is that after being played she just reverts to a vanilla 4000 BP body. Snipe is too strong to be recyclable, so she only gains it the turn she is played. It would be cool if she still had some sort of an effect outside of the turn she’s played, but it is what it is.

Raid Kirito has multiple uses

Raid Kirito has multiple uses

While Kirito feels like the big bad boss in this deck, realistically Sinon is the stronger character. Her lower energy cost makes her just a smidge easier to play, and she’s got the Snipe keyword to get rid of characters from the field.

What makes Kurito strong is that he’s sort of a swiss army knife. He’s got the powerful Impact keyword (of course) and as long as you’ve managed to snipe someone that turn he’s basically guaranteed to have damage 2 as well. That’s a deadly enough combo already but it’s backed by 5000 BP and two additional effects. These are:

  1. Your opponent has to discard a card when they target him with an event card

  2. He can grant 1000 BP to another character on your field.

Still not as strong as raid Sinon but a handy character to have around to say the least. Having a 5000 BP character on your field is also a pretty solid advantage against the meta as many decks prefer to run easier-to-play 4000 BP bodies.

Green SAO Event cards

This deck has a few surprisingly strong event cards, including the special trigger card.

GGO Special UA

You’re not going to want to use this card without choosing Sinon, making Sinon the real critical character in this deck. If you combine it with Sinon, however, Sinon gains 2500 BP, lets you draw a card, and grants Snipe.

Green SAO Event

Use this event on three-cost Sinon and you suddenly get Impact and Snipe. You can also combine it with Photon Sword to gain Impact. Either way, gaining Impact and Snipe at once is always an insane combo.

Use Buggy to make up the difference in energy gen

Buggy Site

Finally we have Buggy – a site that gains fairly insane energy gen by just discarding a card from hand. This is essentially the same card Lancelot has access to in the form of the Special Corps Trailer. I’ve seen that card work wonders in that deck, enabling crazy comebacks when the energy line is otherwise just not built up enough.

That being said, reaching high energy levels has a smaller payoff in this deck than it does in Lancelot, so whether or not you want to use it will depend on how it performs for you in actual gameplay. It’s a solid enough card that I would include it in my list.

Although necessitating a solid energy line and substantial buildup like most high end green decks, this Green SAO deck offers a ton of payoff for reaching those high energy thresholds. It feels like a mashup of Lancelot and Kurapika, offering many of the pros of both decks. Try it out for yourself and let me know how it performs for you! Right now, it’s looking like one of the strongest SAO decks to come out in the set!
