The 10 Most Expensive Temporal Forces Chase Cards
Temporal Forces is a solid set to be released by Pokemon, and it features some very exciting new cards and mechanics that will forever alter the state of the Pokemon TCG standard format as we now know it.
Below, we’re going to be looking at the most expensive Temporal Forces chase cards right now based on their online market price: what people are actually paying for these rare and valuable cards.
*Updated May 7, 2024 with current market data for each card, with the biggest jump in value coming from my personal favorite chase card, Morty’s Conviction SIR. Overall, the chase cards from this set have retained value well.
Iron Crown ex – Special Illustration Rare is the most expensive Temporal Forces Card
The special illustration version of Iron Crown ex has proven to be a rocket ship of a chase card from a market value perspective, almost doubling in value since prices were initially posted. Right now, it is clearly the most valuable chase card in all of Temporal Forces.
Also arguably the most gorgeous card of the set, Iron Crown appears elegantly poised before a full moon. While Iron Crown ex may not be its own deck archetype, it is a key card in the Future Iron Hands ex deck that’s gained a lot of traction in the Pokemon TCG meta, allowing Iron Hands ex to become an archetype in its own right. Iron Crown ex special illustration rare has enough going for it to put it on the top of the list of any Pokemon collector’s chase cards for the Scarlet & Violet era of Pokemon TCG.
Gouging Fire ex – Special Illustration Rare 204/162
Right now, Gouging Fire ex is our favorite card by far in Temporal Forces. Beautiful artwork combined with deadly attacks make for very popular cards, and Gouging Fire ex has that in spades. It also doesn’t hurt that Gouging Fire looks a lot like another of our favorite Pokemon: Entei V.
This card’s rarity alone will drive its price quite high and put it on the top of most people’s chase card list. However, it likely will also end up being a popular archetype in the Pokemon TCG for players, which will further drive demand for this card.
Prime Catcher – ACE SPEC 157/162
In the war of ACE SPEC items, it turns out that Prime Catcher is actually the strongest. This card has the widest usability of all the ACE SPEC cards revealed so far, bolstering virtually any deck that it ends up in. For this reason, it’s one of the most expensive Temporal Forces cards right now.
Eri Special Illustration Rare 210/162
This Eri looks a little…well…eerie. But it also looks pretty awesome with some epic Pokemon in it. It also doesn’t hurt that Eri has a powerful ability that lets you discard cards from your opponent’s hand. Any which way, it’s safe to say that this boss of Team Star’s fighting crew is a highly sought after card with a strong online market price at the moment.
Iron Boulder ex – Special Illustration Rare 207/162
This alternate artwork for Iron Boulder ex features this a future “Paradox Pokemon” likely in its source of origin – Area Zero. And while this Pokemon doesn’t feature the same kind of powerhouse attack Gouging Fire ex does, it’s still quite cool and easily one of the top chase cards of Temporal Forces.
Bianca’s Devotion – Special Illustration Rare
Bianca’s Devotion may not have the same kind of appeal as epic chase trainers like Iono, but this card does possess stellar artwork, a popular trainer, and that sleepy nostalgic vibe that’s done well from a market value perspective in recent sets. Currently, Bianca sits comfortably in the top ten most expensive cards in Temporal Forces.
Walking Wake ex – Special Illustration Rare 205/162
While not a lot is known about this Pokemon (other than it is likely a relative of the highly popular Suicune legendary), there’s plenty going for this rare and beautiful card. In addition to a strong attack capable of dishing out 240 damage under the right circumstances, the Azure Seas ability is quite strong, helping deal with pesky cards that otherwise might inhibit your ability to take prizes.
Attack power aside, this card boasts a calm and cool color palate to match the Pokemon’s demeanor that’s a sharp contrast to the more vibrant tones of the other chase cards in this set.
Raging Bolt ex – Special Illustration Rare 208/162
What do you combine a Raikou with a dinasour and a dragon? A Raging Bolt!
Raging Bolt features a similar sort of hidden landscape devoid of other living creatures besides the mysterious Paradox Pokemon. This one has a lot of appeal to collectors, however, thanks to its prehistoric vibes, and it’s undoubtedly going to be worth a lot of money when Temporal Forces first launches.
Also, because Raging Bolt is a Dragon type Pokemon, it doesn’t actually have any weaknesses, making this powerful and beautiful card a force to be reckoned with.
Morty’s Conviction – Special Illustration Rare 211/162
Morty’s Conviction is my personal chase card from this set. Morty was certainly one of my favorite trainers when I was a kid, and Gengar is one of my favorite Pokemon. It doesn’t hurt that this scene takes place at a charming patio cafe in what could easily be an epic city somewhere like Paris (baguette and all). While what the trainer does is a little underwhelming, the artwork is superb.
Iron Leaves ex 203/162 Special Illustration Rare
Iron Leaves ex is a tremendously popular card in this set. Not only is it the most valuable card in Temporal Forces, it’s highly sought after by players thanks to its advantageous typing and powerful combination of attack and ability.
The artwork here is particularly gorgeous with the trees looking painterly and the moon softly ominous in the background.
