The 15 Most Expensive Twilight Masquerade Chase Cards

What are the most expensive Twilight Masquerade Pokemon cards to collect?

While a little more unassuming than some sets, Twilight Masquerade boasts incredibly fun new strategies for players and several gorgeous Illustration cards based on recent entries into the Pokemon lore for collectors to chase.

This set is based on the Teal Mask expansion of the Scarlet and Violet Pokemon game and focuses heavily on Ogerpon – a highly intelligent, mischief loving Pokémon.

Released via Pokemon TCG Live on May 22, 2024 and getting its full retail release as of May 24, 2024, Twilight Masquerade boasts some gorgeous cards that have retaind their value very, very well. In fact, some have only increased in value as time has passed and collectors have relized just how hard these chase cards actually are to pull.

In this list, we’ll be diving into which of the cards from Twilight Masquerade are the most expensive and what makes them the top chase cards from the set.

Greninja ex Special Illustration Rare is the most expensive Twilight Masquerade Chase Card by Far

Market price: $173.03

If you thought Radiant Greninja was cool, just wait until you meet Greninja ex. Apart from a pretty gnarly artwork design that sees Greninja at the center of what looks like a barage of paint, Greninja ex has some pretty strong attacks. Its Mirage Barrage does what Radiant Greninja’s attack does only better – upping the ante to 120 damage to any of your opponent’s Pokemon. Meanwhile, Shinobi Blade does an impressive 170 damage but also lets you search for any card in your deck.

Radiant Greninja is going to be a big chase card for most, and right now it is the most expensive Twilight Masquerade card of all. Since the last time we updated this list back in May, Radiant Greninja has only increased in price – a feat that usually signals strong value and staying power for new Pokemon cards.

Carmine Special Illustration Rare 217/167

Carmine

Market price: $117.59

Carmine is already fetching an incredible price online similar to what we saw for similar supporters in earlier Scarlet & Violet sets (like Iono). Like the first card on this list, Carmine’s value has actually increased in the time since Twilight Masquerade released – signaling strong potential for this card as a longterm money card.

Apart from her value, I’m pretty impressed with her playability. She’s got this great effect that lets you discard your hand and draw five cards even if it happens to be your first turn! For this reason, I’ve included her on my best Twilight Masquerade cards for players list.

Also, she’s offering you some tasty food in the picture so how could you not be enticed?

Perrin 220/167 – Special Illustration Rare

Perrin

Market price: $78.54

Not a huge surprise here given how exception this card is, but Perrin is currently the third most expensive Twilight Masquerade card.

This Perrin special illustration rare card has one of the coolest concepts of any special illustration rare trainer I’ve seen lately. With Perrin holding what is now a vintage camera (who uses cameras anymore?) that reflects the exact image of another illustration rare card (Growlith), it’s a fun way of connecting trainer with Pokemon. Not to mention Perrin has a pretty helpful effect making her likely to see some play in decks like Lugia VSTAR that need specific Pokemon in play for them to work.

Growlithe

Hisuian Growlithe Illustration Rare

Market price: $11.79

Of course, we also need to highlight the new Hisuian Growlithe here because you can’t have one without the other! And, actually, this trendy Growlithe has doubled in price since last time we updated the list. While it’s not currently included in the top 15 most expensive Twilight Masquerade chase cards, it could be a sleeper card that will work its way up there overtime!

Eevee 188/167 – Illustration Rare

Eevee

Market price: $42.12

Like most Pokemon fans, I too harbor a deep love for Eevee. And this card is one of my favorite alternate arts for the lovable Pokemon I’ve seen to date. What’s more, the attack “Ascension” makes me wonder (and hope) if we might be in store for some powerful Eeveelution ex cards in the near future.

Whether that’s the case or not, this card is easily going to be one of the most valuable cards in this set thanks to a combination of Eevee’s popularity and this card’s gorgeous illustration.

Also an exciting update – I managed to pull this card from my Twilight Masquerade Build and Battle Box, which is great as this was my personal top chase card from the set. This makes me particularly happy given the fact Eevee’s Illustration Rare has retained value quite well since the original release date of this set.

Ogerpon ex Special Illustration Rare cards

Teal Mask Ogerpon

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex

Market price: $45.57

Of course, we knew the Ogerpon ex Special Illustration Rare cards were coming even before the set fully released given they were the stars of the show. What we didn’t know, however, is just how gorgeous they would be.

These cards are quite beautiful in their own way, and are more painterly than the grandiose illustration cards from recent sets that tend to have a lot going on in their backgrounds. Instead we see in these cards an emphasis simply on the artwork and the Ogerpon Pokemon themselves.

Of the Ogerpon ex, Teal Mask ex Special Illustration Rare is the most valuable. My guess is that it’s thanks to this card’s stronger playability that it stands above the others in value. My personal favorite, however, is the sapphire colored Wellspring Mask that brings to mind deep thoughts and waves appropriate for its typing.

Well Spring Mask

Market price: $26.64

Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex - Illustration Rare

Market price: $19.98

Hearthflame Mask

Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon ex

Market price: $18.55

Kieran Special Illustration Rare 218/167

Market price: $40.07

While Kieran’s Special Illustration Rare was one of the most expensive in Japan’s parallel set, Mask of Change, its Twilight Masquerade counterpart is a far cry from the kind of value we see from the thematically similar Carmine Special Illustration Rare.

That being said, the artwork is still great and its also a pretty strong card for players, boosting its street appeal.

Kieran also has some mystique around him as a trainer, considered by some to be the strongest trainer ever. You wouldn’t guess that from his unassuming manner and treats. But his artwork certainly fits the festival theme prevalent in Twilight Masquerade.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex Special Illustration Rare 216/167

Bloodmoon Ursaluna

Market price: $55.57

This distinctive mark has earned it the name “Bloodmoon Beast,” and it is the only such Ursaluna known to exist. The Pokémon is unique in that its altered appearance cannot be attributed to Evolution or form change. –Pokemon

Apart from that bit of Pokemon Trivia, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is a powerful Pokemon and a valuable Special Illustration Art card that you can pull from packs. After fetching an impressive market price of over $80 online at the initial release of this set, since then its price has cooled to what is likely a more accurate price for its value.

The reason for its value can be attributed to not only its rarity but its unique card design that features this fearsome Pokemon in a kinder light, combined with its powerful attack that makes it possible for it to hit for incredible damage with potentially no energy attached.

Lana’s Aid Special Illustration Rare 219/167

Lana's Aid

Market price: $31.91

This water type Pokemon lover is in her natural habitat casually looking deep into the creek while communing with her water Pokemon lovelies. But don’t let the calm, cartoony artwork fool you: this is one valuable and useful card. While collectors are going to be more interested in the lively design, players will like this card for its powerful ability that will be very useful in single prize decks like Ancient Box.

Dragapult ex Ultra Rare 200/167

Market price: $18.68

Speaking of cards that are valuable because of their popularity amongst players – none perhaps is more startling than the current price tag surrounding Dragapult ex. Although not the rarest of cards (it’s only an ultra rare), Dragapult ex is anticipated as one of the best Pokemon cards in Twilight Masquerade. Being such, players are eagerly trying to get their hands on this highly sought after card.

According to early results from tournaments in Japan, it is quite likely that Dragapult ex is going to be the new best Pokemon TCG deck. Players will undoubtedly be flocking to Twilight Masquerade booster packs in droves hoping to complete the play set ahead of anyone else.

Buddy-Buddy Poffin Hyper Rare 233/167

Buddy-Buddy Poffin

Market price: $77.77

Buddy-Buddy Poffin is a powerful card used in many, many decks. It was also one of the most valuable cards in Japan’s sister set. I wasn’t sure if Buddy-Buddy would be as valuable in Twilight Masquerade simply because hyper rare cards tend not to be the most expensive Pokemon cards (despite their rarity).

Today, however, it has one of the highest market prices of all cards in this set, and certainly a chase card for many. My guess is this demand is driven largely by players who want to bling out their decks, as I doubt too many people are looking to put Buddy-Buddy Poffin in a slab on their wall.

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex - 221/167 Hyper Rare

Market price: $20.32

Speaking of hyper rare cards that are valuable in this set, Teal Mask is the fifteenth most valuable card in this list. Again, this is likely due to Teal Mask’s popularity in the game amongst players, and helps show how much of a force players are becoming in card values as tournament attendance soars to ever greater heights. Undoubtedly players looking to build and/ore bling out their Raging Bolt/Ogerpon ex deck are hunting varociously for this particular card to add to their collection.

Sinistcha ex - 210/167 Illustration Rare

Sinistcha ex - 210/167 Illustration Rare

Market price: $20.60

Last but certainly not least on this list we have Sinistcha ex. While this card is technically worth more right now than the hyper rare Ogerpon ex, I put it dead last because I don’t think it’s going to last. In fact, I’m not sure exactly why this card is even on this list right now other than the fact it’s got some pretty cool artwork. I would imagine, however, that overtime it will fall off the top 15 as there’s not a lot going for the card other than decent artwork.
