UNION ARENA: The Most Expensive Sword Art Online Cards
#1 Asuna (037) (SR***)
I’m not exactly going out on a limb here when I saw Asuna’s SR*** is going to be the most expensive card in UNION ARENA’s Sword Art Online set. Asuna is one of the more popular anime fans you come across. Amongst SAO fans, she’s immensely well-liked. Indeed, in a poll run on the official UNION ARENA X account, Asuna is currently leading with the most votes for top chase from the set.
I’m going to be bullish about Asuna’s rarest card from the set, and say it could go for as much as $600 or even more.
#2 Kirito (SR***)
Kirito should be close on the heels of Asuna in regards to value. I’d put this card at around $300 or more based on real market value (not inflated presale prices). Kirito is a master swordsman and one of the more recognizable anime characters around, lending solid value to this signature card.
#3 Asuna (037) (SR**)
Moving on from the triple stars, this Asuna should be the most expensive of the double star rare cards. I like the gold border of the triple star rare better, but the red effect here is certainly interesting. Asuna’s double star rare will likely be worth around $200 after the dust settles for a bit and the majority of packs opened.
#4 Kirito (SR**)
Kirito SR** should be pretty popular, if not quite as popular as Asuna’s. I’d put this card’s value just below the $200 mark.
#5 Sinon (SR**)
Sinon is arguably the third most popular SAO character, and she’s a fearsome character in both the show and in the game. At six energy cost and gaining Snipe, Sinon can be a powerful offensive character. She’s made even more powerful by the many cards that make up the Green GGO deck. Combine strategic power with popularity and what you get is the most valuable SAO chase card outside of the two main characters worth somewhere around $150.
#6 Alice Synthesis Thirty
The third season of SAO is generally hailed as one of the most popular, and Alice is a central character to that season. Indeed, the entire season is named after her, in a way. What’s more, this card’s fairly strong, and likely to see plenty of competitive play. For that reason, look for this card to retain some significant value, certainly over $100.
#7 Leafa (SR**)
Leafa’s a pretty solid character in the anime. She gets a little bit of hate for her love of Kirito who is her bro. But the two aren’t actually related so it’s not that big of a deal. Plus…who wouldn’t love Kurito? The dude’s a boss.
Anyways, Leafa is a determined fighter. Even if she’s never exactly the strongest, she makes up for some of her lack in skill with pure heart. She’s one of the more popular characters in the show, catapulting her value to somewhere around the $95 mark.
#8 Yuuki (SR**)
Yuuki is a central character from one of SAO’s most memorable arcs. While she may not be nearly as popular as Sinon or Asuna, she’s a very powerful character, likely upping her stocks on the secondary card market. I’d put her value somewhere around $85.
#9 Eugeo Synthesis Thirty-Two (SR**)
Eugeo acts as a foil to Kirito in the anime. He’s young, naive, and filled with emotion. As such, he’s a pretty intriguing character, driven by his desire to protect the ones he loves. His price tag should reflect his importance to the plot, landing somewhere in the upper double digit range.
#10 Silica (R**)
I barely remember this particular character from the show but she’s got a cool pet dragon so that’s neat. This card will probably be worth around $75.
#11 Lisbeth (R**)
Lisbeth plays a supporting role in both the anime and the card game, earning her the last spot on this list. She should be worth between $50 and $75.
