Which Valentine’s Day Mistake Did You Make this Year?

It’s hard to get Valentine’s Day right during the best of times. What about during a pandemic? I know – you’re a perfect gentleman who always knows just what to say or do on the big day of love. But for the rest of us, it’s likely that we made at least one of the mistakes below.

Valentine’s Day Mistake #1 – Gave Red Roses

I mean, it’s not technically a bad thing to do. Red roses are sort of the Valentine’s Day gold standard. However, what’s even better than red roses are a nice bouquet of multi colored roses, flowers etc. They show that you are not just doing the typical thing – you’re putting thought into what SHE wants. Right?

Valentines Day Mistake #2 – No Present

Obviously it’s nice to get flowers for the big V-Day. But a present is also a must. Chances are, some of us didn’t get the memo.

Valentines Day Mistake #3 – No Plans

Did you make reservations at her favorite restaurant this yer? If not, you can add this to your list of V-Day fouls. One of the best things you can do to show your S/O you care is to make sure there’s a solid plan in place for the day/evening. Because Valentine’s Day was on a weekend this year, chances are the pressure’s on to make it an all day affair.

Valentine’s Day Mistake #4 – No Date

Maybe you thought going out on a V-Day date was a bit too cheesy for you. I got it – it’s just a holiday invented by greeting card companies, right? Well, unless you are dating a super cool emo chick/goth girl or something like that, chances are she’s going to want you to take her out on a date. Also, that girl you like but were nervous about showing you really liked, you just missed a perfect chance to make your intensions clear in a non creepy way. There’s no way a date on Valentine’s Day could be misconstrued as a friend thing.

Valentine’s Day Mistake #5 – Fighting

There are plenty of reasons to pick a fight with your loved one, and fighting isn’t necessarily a bad thing, either. But can’t you just put it aside for just one day? Fighting or overwhelming your loved one with your current worries or concerns is not the best way to spend the most romantic day of the year. Why not try putting differences aside just for a day? You can pick up where you left off tomorrow.
