20 Most Valuable Paradox Rift Chase Cards
What are the top chase cards from Pokemon TCG: Paradox Rift?
For this list, we looked through the current listing on our two favorite card marketplaces – eBay and TCGplayer – in order to help show which cards from this epic set are fetching the highest prices online.
Paradox Rift has been out long enough that prices have significantly smoothed out. We now have much more accurate data on what its top chase cards are.
The singles Pokemon card market is known to change overtime, however. So check back often for the most up-to-date pricing info!
Updated January 23, 2023 Our latest update includes current market data for the top 20 Paradox Rift chase cards.
Would Paradox Rift really be a proper, modern Pokemon TCG expansion without a girl trainer making it onto this list of top chase cards somewhere? Well, in Paradox Rift, Pokemon gave us several girl supporters to choose from. As odd as it might be that these cards are so valuable, we have to admit that Tulip’s Special Illustration Rare artwork is pretty cool. This card has that look that you just know is going to be popular with collectors. It doesn’t hurt that she’s useable from a gameplay standpoint, too, especially if you are wanting to play a straight Iron Valiant ex build.
Iron Hands ex Ultra Rare is a noteworthy inclusion in this list because it is in fact the only ultra rare card int he top twenty most valuable Paradox Rift cards. Such is the incredible popularity and meta-shifting nature of this card that even a less valuable version is enough to fetch some money on the singles market.
Roaring Moon ex an uncommonly strong card, and each and every one of its versions in Paradox Rift looks great. The hyper rare version of Roaring Moon ex is very similar to the ultra rare one, except for the golden overlay. I have this card (traded a few Lugia Vs for it) so I can attest to how beautiful it is – it looks even better when you have it in person. I’d highly recommend adding it to your collection, especially given its current, affordable market price.
Garchomp ex Hyper Rare is certainly a compelling card. It’s not nearly as gorgeous as the special illustration rare (hence the lower price) but it’s still got enough razzle dazzle to get more than a few collectors to take notice.
Hyper Rare Counter Catcher has rightfully gotten some much well deserved attention on the secondary card market thanks to Pokemon TCG players taking high profile victories with this helpful card in their list. Hyper Rare is its most rare form, and a worthy addition to your collection or to your blinged out Giratina VSTAR deck.
Morpeko is a pretty well liked Pokemon so I’m actually a bit surprised it took until now for this card to make it onto our radar. Who doesn’t love a cute little dark type Pokemon gorging itself on treats? Additionally, Morpeko is really well liked by players right now thanks to its popularity in the awe inspiring Roaring Moon ex deck.
Don’t just scroll past this card though – if you look carefully you’ll see all kinds of cool Pokemon represented as cookies that Morpeko is greedily munching on in this colorful and well composed card.
Professor Turo’s Scenario brought an interesting mechanic to the Pokemon TCG. Now, suddenly, you can put any Pokemon you want from in play back into your hand. While decks aren’t likely to run a lot of these cards, top competitive decks have certainly been known to run it. And this special illustration rare version of Turo’s Scenario is particularly cool. While not “gorgeous” like some of the other artworks in this set, it’s decidedly interesting and really grabs your attention.
Personally, I’m not surprised to see this card doing so well on the secondary card market now that it has clearly grabbed the imagination of both Pokemon collectors and players.
Upon initial release, Mela was the most valuable chase card in Paradox Rift. We felt that wasn’t going to last, and it hasn’t. Still, it’s not really hard to see why this card still does possess such a relatively strong value. Mela’s a cool trainer and this card gives her an aloof, devil-may-care look that you just can’t help but stop and stare at.
Not to mention she’s got Torkoal with her, and who doesn’t love Torkoal?
Torkoal and alluring green eyes aside, Mela is a strong card, and an incredible boon to fire-type decks that might actually stand a chance now even without Charizard ex from Obsidian Flames.
This Golisopod ex card is simply one of the gorgeous artworks to come out of Paradox Rift. However, it’s especially beautiful when you consider this Pokemon is sort of a centipede thing. It’s hard to make that kind of a concept look good but kudos to the artist because they certainly pulled it off. I pulled this card in one of my Build and Battle Boxes during a prerelease event and sold it shortly after for around the price that it’s now currently getting. So that’s pretty impressive this card has managed to maintain a strong value after being on the market so long.
Sandy Shocks ex is actually a fairly strong Pokemon that’s been overlooked. It’s a basic Pokemon that can dish out 200 damage for only three energy, and one of those energies can be accelerated via its attack.
Sandy Shocks is also a new addition to this list, making its way up to eleventh most valuable Paradox Rift chase card since our last update.
Tapu Koko ex climbed up on this list since the initial release of Paradox Rift, and I can see why. This is an incredibly colorful card that reminds me of the Southwest Pacific Islands that no doubt inspired this particular Pokemon. In addition to the serene beach view, the color scheme and the sun setting halfway behind the horizon and halfway into the ocean is an incredible artistic feat.
If you’re looking to add a special illustration rare to your collection that is likely to retain value well, this might just be the card for you. It’s market value is virtually unchanged since our last update to this.
Garchomp ex Special Illustration Rare is a card that’s been a bit of a wildcard. It’s flucuated quite a bit since even before Paradox Rift officially released at the beginning of November. Today, however, it seems to have stabilized in the top 10 most valuable Paradox Rift cards. And with gorgeous art like this, it’s no wonder it’s fetching a decent value on the market. The fact that Garchomp is a well liked Pokemon – especially by dino lovers – doesn’t hurt, either. And while it’s unlikely this card will see much tournament play, it will remain collectible thanks to its rareness and beauty.
One card that is holding up value well among the top 10 most valuable Paradox Rift cards list is the gorgeous Altaria ex Special Illustration Rare. Now that it’s arrived, it seems almost like a surprise that it hadn’t been here all along. Altaria is a really cool dragon Pokemon in general, mixing elegance with beauty in a way you really don’t expect from dragons. In this card, we see it flying high with Wingulls passing below.
It’s a hopeful card that would only benefit from a greater playability from Altaria ex (as it stands, the card isn’t competitively viable). Still, from an artwork perspective, this is one of my personal favorites from the set.
This card doesn’t have the same kind of aesthetic appeal than some of the other special illustration rare supporters released in Paradox Rfit. That being said, this card’s artwork is well done, and its composition is interesting. What we really like about it, however, is that it’s the rarest version of one of the best cards to come out of Paradox Rift. Sada’s Vitality pairs extraordinarily well with what is bound to be the best archetype to come out of the set, Roaring Moon ex. In fact, it could be the resurgent popularity of that deck archetype to blame for this card’s modest increase in value lately.
Combine that with original artwork like this and you get a high value card.
I’m not surprised to see Groudon doing so well on the singles card market. Groudon is an incredibly memorable Pokemon, and this is the most gorgeous and epic artwork I’ve seen of it. This is one of those cards that just shot up in value since initial release, as demand for it has soared. We’ve seen that quite a bit in recent sets where these illustration rare cards suddenly shoot up in value as people realize how desirable they are.
Beyond it’s collectability, Groudon’s got a strong attack that I could see people using in competitive decks. Still, it’s pretty impressive that a simple illustration rare would be at number four on this list. It’s not that it’s been fairing so incredibly well – it’s just been losing value less quickly than some of the other Paradox Rift cards on this list.
Iron Hands ex was one of the most eagerly awaited cards to come out of Paradox Rift. Not only is its special illustration version desirable and rare, the card is hugely impactful for players, and will undoubtedly impact the meta – bolstering the popular Miraidon ex deck and Chien-Pao ex, as well.
Right now, Iron Hands is just barely being edged out of fourth place by the incredible Parasol Lady card that’s refused to leave the top ten most valuable Paradox Rift cards ever since the set released.
If there’s one card we could highlight for how interesting it’s been to watch change on the secondary card market, that one card would be Parasol Lady. It’s been consistently in the top 10 of most valuable cards since Paradox Rift released. But where it has sat in terms of value in regard to the rest of the cards has constantly shifted.
Today, it’s at an impressive fourth place, managing to even increase in value since we last updated this list.
Don’t let Parasol Lady’s Beauty fool you – she’s a strong draw supporter. However, she has a pretty big condition attached to her which means she probably won’t see a lot of competitive play. But who really cares? Pokemon collectors love cards like these. They are beautiful, highly collectible, and because it’s a special illustration rare, it’s quite rare, too.
Fun fact: Parasol Lady made her first debut in Pokemon generation III.
Gholdengo’s value is settling in after a day of Paradox Rift being released. Beyond the artwork of the card (which, I’m not gonna lie, isn’t my favorite), it seems likely that this card has the kind of price tag it has because people are excited about playing Gholdengo ex. Competitively viable cards tend to fetch more value than their less competitive counterparts. Apart from that, Gholdengo sort of looks like a string cheese man from an old commercial. Yet regardless of how we feel about it, this card has held up its value well, with virtually no change in market value since our last update.
The Iron Valiant ex Special Illustration Rare card hails from the future, bringing with it new card mechanics that have really shook the Pokemon TCG meta. Beyond its playability, the Special Illustration rare version looks cool, and will undoubtedly retain its spot on top this list of Paradox Rift chase cards.
Since our last update, this card has dropped pretty substantially in value, down $20 since then. It’s likely this card won’t surge again in price any time soon as Paradox Rift’s card prices seem to be stabilizing.
This Roaring Moon special Illustration rare is my favorite alternative art card in all of Scarlet and Violet so far. It’s not only a gorgeous card, it reminds me a lot of some of the really rare and valuable cards from Sword and Shield. Now that the set has been released, it’s clear that this rare Roaring Moon ex card is the ultimate chase card from Paradox Rift, and it’s likely to hold up in value the best overtime.
After an initial surge in market value driven partly due to Roaring Moon ex’s popularity on the competitive scene, this card’s price has dropped significantly lately, coinciding also with Roaring Moon ex’s popularity among players. I still think this card is a great addition to your collection, however, as Roaring Moon ex is a memorable card from one of the best Pokemon packs of 2023.
