Stitch Alien Buccaneer in Azurite Sea Unlocks a Deadly Combo
Lorcana’s sixth set, Azurite Sea, has been announced and with it a bevy of fun, creative cards that show how much we still have to expect out of Lorcana.
That being said, one of the cards that stood out the most from the initial Azurite Sea spoilers is none other than Stitch – Alien Buccaneer or Pirate Stitch. When used with the right collection of cards, he has the potential to be absolutely deadly. Here’s how it works.
Stitch – Alien Buccaneer card breakdown
Apart from featuring yet another Floodborn reimagining of Stitch, Pirate Stitch also comes with an interesting ability that could have big ramifications for the game, and especially strong interactions with previously released cards.
Ready For Action is the ability we’re talking about here, and it lets you bring an Action from you discard and put it on top of your deck. While that might not sound super amazing at first, if you pair it with the right cards, it could be deadly.
Pair Pirate Stitch with Floodborn Mulan
This Floodborn Mulan card has an intriguing ability called Honor to the Ancestors which lets you play a song for free, assuming it is the top card of your deck. So all you have to do is use Stitch to bring a song from your discard when you play him, quest Mulan, and then you essentially play that song for free.
But what song is worth expending the effort on?
Under the Sea just got easier to play
I posted this powerful combo to my X account and immediately fellow Lorcana enthusiasts pointed out how deadly this could be if it is used to play the powerful Under the Sea card for free.
Typically, Under the Sea requires a relatively high singing cost to get it to work. When it does work, however, it can quickly clear your opponent’s board. Well, using Stitch in combination with Mulan (and assuming you have Under the Sea in your discard) means you can play this hyper powerful song without paying its singing cost or Ink cost.
Lower strength costs to get more bang for your Under the Sea Buck
Additionally, another Floodborn character could help you out here in making Under the Sea stronger. Kida from Into the Inklands is a powerful character who lowers opposing strength stats when she is played. There aren’t many characters who could survive an Under the Sea when Kida has also been played. And while getting all of these combos together will take some effort, it’s much more feasible now that you have away around paying Under the Sea’s high cost!
Getting Under the Sea into the discard
Last but not least, how do you manage to get Under the Sea into the discard in the first place? While there are several ways you could accomplish this, perhaps the best way is to use it as a Shift cost to play a Floodborn character like Diablo (as pointed out by Rooster5Man in the comments on my X post).
However, that’s not the only way you can discard cards easily. Another very strong and too often overlooked card that can help you achieve the same thing is Strike a Good Match.
However you do it, getting Under the Sea into the discard is the first step to getting this deadly combo to work. It seems that, without a doubt, strange and exciting card interactions lie across the Azurite Seas in Lorcana’s sixth set!
