5 Strongest Cards in Twilight Masquerade
Twilight Masquerade is an exciting expansion for Pokemon TCG with plenty of interesting cards for players. But which of these cards are strongest and most competitive?
Let’s break a few of them down based on which are likely to have the biggest outsized impact on the Pokemon TCG
Teal Mask Ogerpon ex
Grass Type Pokemon have largely been left out of the competitive Pokemon TCG for a while, with the last strong deck I can think of being Leafeon VMAX way back in Evolving Skies. Because of Charizard dominance, however, many players are considering their grass options, and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex seems like a viable option. With an energy accelerating/draw combo that makes it pretty deadly, you could work Teal Mask into many decks.
Carmine
At first Carmine might be a card you could easily overlook. However, she’s a strong draw supporter and has the capability of being played on the very first turn. That’s a powerful effect that could work well with a lot of decks that like to discard early and often, including Lugia VSTAR.
Tatsugiri
I was able to witness Tatsugiri’s formidable power first hand during the Twilight Masquerade Prerelease, and it’s quite clear that this little fish is going to be one of the strongest cards from the set. It’s got a massively helpful ability in the current metagame. What makes that ability even more effective is the fact that it comes in the package of a single prize Pokemon, making it much less of a liability than a typical two-prize that would usually sport so much impact.
You can expect to see Tatsugiri being included in many, many top tier Pokemon decks, and especially in the soon-to-be-hot Dragapult ex deck.
Dragapult ex
Speaking of…Dragapult ex is the most anticipated card of Twilight Masquerade. In a meta that has been dominated by one deck for a while, many are welcoming the inclusion of what seems to be a contender for the throne of top Pokemon meta deck. What makes this card particularly special is its combination of damage spread, high HP and advantageous typing that has no weakness.
Dragapult ex is causing such an uproar in the space that it’s relatively easy-to-pull double rare version is already a top chase card from Twilight Masquerade.
Unfair Stamp
Unfair Stamp is a pretty broken card, given you a huge hand advantage without any other conditions. Unlike other cards like Iono or Roxanne that require certain conditions to be met in order to get hand advantage, Unfair Stamp guarantees you have more cards than your opponent regardless of your situation. As if it needed any reason to be better, it also is an item card, meaning it doesn’t use up your once per turn supporter. That might be the most broken part of all.
