The Best-Looking Cards in Space-Time Smackdown
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s third set focuses on the relatively nostalgic Diamond and Pearl Pokemon: Palkia and Dialga. Officially releasing on January 29, 2025, players will be opening packs in hopes of capturing some very epic pulls. But which of these exciting cards will be the most fun to pull from packs?
Below, we’ll be looking at the best-looking Space-Time Pokemon TCG Pocket alternate art cards of them all!
Shaymin alternate art
We’ve had a good number of Shaymin cards in the Pokemon TCG, I can’t think of one as beautiful and pastoral as this. Shaymin almost disappears into this patch of similarly colored flowers, bestowing peace and tranquility upon all who gaze at him. His effect doesn’t feel too shabby for a bench warmer, either.
Giratina alternate art
This Giratina card is truly epic, putting this otherworldly beast’s reality distorting powers on full display. Most Giratina fans will go absolutely crazy for this jaw-dropping card.
Cresselia alternate art
We all know what it feels like to be a little kid staring out the window in hopes of catching glimpse of a rare Pokemon. For me it wasn’t necessarily Cresselia I was looking for, but it is interesting how this particular card features a very off-brand illustration that looks like something out of a nursery book rather than a Pokemon card.
Dialga ex alternate art
Nothing spells an excellent, chase-worthy alternate art card like a legendary Pokemon staring off into the sunset over a great expanse of wilderness. Personally, I don’t find Dialga to be the most aesthetically pleasing Pokemon ever made. But with this backdrop, I can’t argue this card is pretty impressive.
Palkia ex alternate art
The polar opposite of the serene Dialga artwork, Palkia’s alternate art form depicts a world out of order. I’m assuming this is alluding to Palkia’s creator powers by why is everything such a mess? Regardless, this card is a visual narrative in-and-of-itself: one that draws you into the epic story being told through these two central Pokemon.
Lucario alternate art
This Lucario card may take the cake artwork-wise from the entire set. Generally speaking Lucario is a very popular Pokemon, and here we see him seeming to lead a charge of other similarly typed fighting Pokemon. There’s a really macho energy at play here between these total bro Pokemon getting ready for a brawl that’s hard to look away from, and I expect this card to be a total chase for most playing the game.
Infernape ex alternate art
Although I’m not the biggest fan of Infernape as a Pokemon, this artwork looks absolutely fantastic. We see Infernape surfing down from teh sky on a burning pile of rubble, perfectly captured against a blood-red sun in the background looking like he’s about to do battle like a crazy legendary monkey king.
Garchomp alternate art
Garchomp goes incognito in this unexpected card featuring it dozing sleepily in someone’s study. This brings to mind the Scarlet & Violet Pokemon series of cards which features a range of similarly sleepy Pokemon in every day locations.
For this card, it totally works. Garchomp is usually seen as a fearsome Pokemon dominating the battlefield. You absolutely wouldn’t think to look for it in a setting so domestic as this one.
Not to mention it’s got a pretty sick ability that lets you draw a card each turn coupled with a decent attack.
