The Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection Will Drive Collectors Crazy
If Prismatic Evolutions were an album instead of a special set, it certainly would’ve been one of Pokemon TCG’s biggest hits. There’s so much to say about that crazy set but the fact that as a brand new Pokemon TCG set it brought with it one of the most expensive Pokemon cards right now is saying something.
However, the good times just keep rolling: the Pokemon Company announced that a special Super Premium collection will be coming out on May 16, 2025 featuring Eevee and Eeeveelution themed accessories as well as plenty of Prismatic Evolutions packs.
While the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection is given the rank of “Super,” it kind of looks and feels like an Ultra Premium Collection: the products that are usually the year’s crown jewel in regards to special collection sets. However, those don’t usually come out until later in the year, dropping right before the holidays. In this case, Super Premium seems to imply a highly unique product offering. The last of its kind that we got on the market was the Charizard ex Super Premium Collection. Essentially, the “Super” seems to imply extraordinary in that it comes with added chachkies or accessories you won’t normally get in Pokemon TCG products.
That being said, Pokemon TCG fans should be rejoicing over this particular find as it’s a huge step up from the last two Ultra Premium Collections we got – both of which debuted in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Let’s look at each and every exciting thing coming out in the Super Premium Collection so you can see for yourself why this is definitely something to get excited about.
Prismatic Evolutions packs, packs, packs!
Like any special set, Prismatic Evolutions has a somewhat more limited line of products for collectors to choose from than a regular release. Big bulk buys that are a staple in main releases are missing, replaced by things like an ETB as being the best way to get bang for your buck – and a bunch of packs.
In this box, you’ll be getting a truly incredible 15 Prismatic Evolutions booster packs: something which in and of itself is pretty insane given each of those packs are selling for over $12 on TCGPlayer.
Getting this many packs in one product will be the main driving force behind purchasing this product, but it’s certainly not all it has going for it.
The promo is incredible
Given how rare these Super Premium Collections are likely to be, it’s quite possible this Eevee promo will skyrocket in value. Apart from being a stellar promo, it has some added appeal as it was designed by celebrity chef Natsuko Shoji, showcasing a truly remarkable set of skills.
The Eeveelution playmat
As an avid Pokemon TCG player as well as collector, the Eeveelution playmat may very well be the single greatest playmat to come in any official, widely available Pokemon TCG product since I’ve been writing about the hobby.
Again, given how valuable this box is likely to be, you’re going to be flexing a bit just dropping this bad boy at your local tournament. It’s a gorgeously designed playmat with a storybook border complete with each and every Eeveelution. Color me intrigued!
And as if that weren’t enough, you’ll be getting matching sleeves.
The Eevee deck box
And, finally, the Super Premium Collection comes with a special plush Eevee deck box – a huge step up from the usual tier-two fair that comes in these collections in the form of deck boxes.
It’s clear that the Pokemon Company has gone absolutely all out on this Super Premium Collection, and it is the single greatest product to come out in the hobby since the glory days of the Celebrations Ultra Premium Collection (a box that’s now worth $400+ sealed).
