Action Card in Azurite Sea Heralds a Potential Tier Zero Deck

Disney Lorcana just unveiled a new card in Azurite Sea and it ia powerful to say the least. This Action card, “Prepare Your Bot,” lets you ready a chosen item or Robot character. Of the two options, it’s the “ready Chosen item” route that feels the most dangerous. Indeed, this card feels like it could be the lynchpin that drives an already powerful Lorcana deck into tier zero status.

Prepare Your Bot pairs almost too well with Lucky Dime

The most immediate card interaction that comes to mind with Prepare Your Bot is using it as a way to reload Lucky Dime.

Lucky Dime has become a staple in the Lorcana metagame where it is most frequently seen played alongside the Ruby/Sapphire build. Already using Lucky Dime you are able to gain lore absurdly fast. This is part of the reason that Ruby/Sapphire is such a dominant deck in the game right now.

Well…now Ruby/Sapphire gets even stronger thanks to “Prepare Your Bot.”

For just one Ink, you can reset your Lucky Dime and use its effect all over again. Also, Ready Your Bot isn’t limited to being played once per turn.

Making an already strong deck stronger

Ruby/Sapphire has been massively dominant in the game for a while now. Currently, it has a large share of the meta. Is giving it powerful new tools like these necessarily advisable? Could we potentially have a tier zero deck – a deck that is so dominate you either play it or play against it – next set in the form of Ruby Sapphire?

Unfortunately, given this card, I think that is a distinct possibility.

And it’s not the only powerful card being added to the Ink combo’s arsenal.

A few weeks back I also highlighted how powerful the new Yokai character could be, allowing you to play a Lucky Dime for much less Ink than possible before, or unlocking additional draw power when used into Pawpsicle. You could even use this card to enhance the capabilities of another broken card at Sapphire’s disposal: Fishbone Quill.

Combining Lucky Dime with Yokai and this new action feels very, very dangerous. Will Azurite Sea unveil additional cards that will help offset this power creep in the hands of one Ink type?

I’m not sure. But we’ve still got plenty more Azurite Sea spoilers to come so I guess we’ll have to just wait and see!
