Charizard ex Premium Collection highlights and lowlights

Highlights: Charizard ex Premium Collection contains a gorgeous Charizard ex promo card. It’s the single main appeal of the collection box. Another highlight for us was the display case it comes with. While you may not want to use that display case for this Charizard, we put it in right away. It’s cool to get something included in the box that helps you show off either this Charizard card or another of your favorite cards. And the display case looks pretty cool, too.

Lowlights: you’re getting about what you pay for in regards to market value. It would have been better if Pokemon had thrown in a few extra boosters instead of relying only on gimmicks like Charizard ex card sleeves and a plastic display case (as cool as it is)

Is the Charizard ex Premium Collection worth it?

We think so. While it may not deliver incredible value (you’re getting about what you pay for when you factor everything in by its market value), the fun factor of opening a Charizard ex box and the gorgeous Charizard ex promo card itself puts it at a great value in our minds. From a purely economical standpoing, you’re about breaking even if not paying a little extra for the gimmicks than you would buying these products (the booster packs and the promo cards) outright.

The best way to get the best value out of this purchase, however, is to not rely on picking it up from your local store. Target is selling it for $40.00 right now, whereas it’s selling for $32.50 on TCGplayer.

At $40, what you are getting does not quite add up to what you are paying, but it’s about even when you purchase it from TCGplayer.

Did we pull anything good?

While your own experience will vary greatly, we’ll show you what we got from our packs below.

We didn’t get anything fantastic, although the Geeta is pretty cool. Hopefully your pulls are better!
